My Approach

My utmost passion lies in empowering individuals to embrace their inner strength and to find their true potential. Through my therapeutic approach, I strive to create a safe and supportive space where clients can embark on a transformative journey toward personal growth and well-being. My eclectic therapeutic style incorporates Attachment-Based Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Play Therapy, Gottman Method for Healthy Relationships, and Trauma-Focused Therapy practices depending on your unique individual/family needs.

About Me

Growing up in Japan and the U.S. provided me with an opportunity to see things from multiple angles. It taught me to be humble yet speak up when needed. Part of my family is very traditional (hence, I was named "Child of Kyo" from the city of Kyoto), while the other side is very international. I was raised to be curious, attentive, and helpful. My commitment to my clients includes dedicating one crane per hour I spend for my clients to make Senbazuru (One thousand cranes), which symbolizes peace and healing for someone in pain. I fold one crane with my wish and hope to be part of one's healing journey as I continue my journey for my licensure.

Prior to my training in counseling, I was an engineer and have a long career as a business consultant in the finance sector, although, becoming a therapist has been my lifelong passion. The desire to pursue further education and to become a therapist grew stronger when I started my volunteer work as a Court Appointed Child Advocate (CASA) with teens. What I've learned from and through teens are something I cherish to this day as I continue my volunteer work.
